28:1 银有出产之地，金有冶炼之所。
There is indeed a mine for silver, and a place for gold which men refine. 28:2 铁由土中掘出，铜自石中镕炼。
Iron is taken from the earth, and copper is melted out of stone. 28:3 人给黑暗制定了界限，探讨幽暗阴晦的坚石，挖至地层深处。
He has set a boundary for the darkness; to the farthest confines he penetrates. 28:4 在无人居住之处开凿矿穴，上面过路的人，也想不到他们远离人间，身悬半空，摇摆不定。
Far from where people dwell he cuts a shaft, in places forgotten by the foot of man; far from men he dangles and sways. 28:5 地上出产食粮，地下有火翻腾。
The earth, though out of it comes forth bread, is in fiery upheaval underneath. 28:6 那里的石头尽是碧玉，其中还藏有金沙。
Its stones are the source of sapphires, and there is gold in its dust. 28:7 矿中的幽径，猛禽不知，鹰眼未见。
The path to it no bird of prey knows, nor has the hawk’s eye seen that path. 28:8 野兽未践踏，猛狮未经过。
The proud beasts have not trodden it, nor has the lion gone that way. 28:9 人伸手击打燧石，山基为之动摇。
He sets his hand to the flinty rock, and overturns the mountains at their foundations. 28:10 在岩石中开凿隧道，所有珍宝尽入眼帘。
He splits channels in the rocks; his eyes behold all that is precious. 28:11 探察江河之源流，使宝藏尽显露。
He probes the wellsprings of the streams, and brings hidden things to light. 28:12 但是智慧出自何处？哪里是明智所在﹖
But whence can wisdom be obtained, and where is the place of understanding? 28:13 智慧的道路，人不认识，在众生界寻不到她。
Man knows nothing to equal it, nor is it to be had in the land of the living. 28:14 深渊说：「她不在我这里。」海洋说：「她不与我同域。」
The abyss declares, "It is not in me"; and the sea says, "I have it not." 28:15 她非重金所能购买，也不能称量银子作她的代价。
Solid gold cannot purchase it, nor can its price be paid with silver. 28:16 敖非尔金不能与她较量，宝石和碧玉也不能与她相比。
It cannot be bought with gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx or the sapphire. 28:17 黄金与琉璃不能与她同列，纯金的器皿也不能与她交换。
Gold or crystal cannot equal it, nor can golden vessels reach its worth. 28:18 珊瑚与水晶都不足论，取得智慧胜过取得珍珠。
Neither coral nor jasper should be thought of; it surpasses pearls and 28:19 雇士的黄玉不足与她相比，纯金也不能与她较量。
The topaz of Cush cannot compare with it; it cannot be bought with pure gold. 28:20 究竟智慧由何处而来，那里是明智所在﹖
Whence, then, comes wisdom, and where is the place of understanding? 28:21 众生的眼目未曾见过，天空的飞鸟也未发觉。
It is hid from the eyes of any beast; from the birds of the air it is concealed. 28:22 「毁灭」与「死亡」都说：「我们只风闻过她的声望。」
Abaddon and Death say, "Only by rumor have we heard of it." 28:23 惟独天主认识她的道路，惟有他知道她的在所。
God knows the way to it; it is he who is familiar with its place. 28:24 因为惟有他观察地极，俯视天下的一切。
For he beholds the ends of the earth and sees all that is under the heavens. 28:25 当他划定风的重量，规定水的定量，
He has weighed out the wind, and fixed the scope of the waters; 28:26 厘定下雨的季节，规定雷电的路线时，
When he made rules for the rain and a path for the thunderbolts, 28:27 他已见了她，估量了她，立定了她，考察了她。
Then he saw wisdom and appraised it, gave it its setting, knew it through and through. 28:28 然后对人说：「看，敬畏上主，就是智慧；远离邪恶，就是明智。」
And to man he said: Behold, the fear of the LORD is wisdom; and avoiding evil is understanding.
